2 episodes out so far and acting is pretty bad, plus lots of plot holes.

I don't get the zombies...the people just seem to run/walk right by them and they don't even care, then sometimes they run/attack, other times they just walk, and then there's been at least 2 i can remember that toy with their prey instead of mindlessly going after them.

Don't you like hit how "10,000" uses a sling shot to take out zombies ?

I don't see this show lasting much longer.

I really wish we could get something other than zombies, vampires, or ghosts these days. What ever happened to just plain ol' crazy cannibals? Why can't horror movies / shows focus on the actually scary shit in the world: the depths and depravity of human nature. It is must scarier to know that people like Jeffery Dahmer and John Wayne Gacy exist than some magic zombie BS.

The show is not even internally consistent.

One one scene they gun guy is talking about how a .22 has more available ammo but will take 2-3 shots to kill a zombie, and then in the very next scene the guy with the .22 one shots like 3 zombies with it.

Then I finally turned it off after the entire team lined up to empty their entire clips on 2 zombies. So much for being worried about ammo.

Overall the show feels like a syfy monster of the week show, which are fine for one shot shows where you don't have to worry about plot, but a ongoing show needs something more going for it.

Every once in a while a good show will get picked up by them, such as Stargate, and they also made Eureka which was at least decent, but those are definitely exceptions to the rule. They're pretty much the scifi ghetto's landlord and pimp.

So i get that the 1 guy is resistant to zombie infection, but how did he survive the actual physical bites/flesh tearing? I know the black guy went back for him but he single handedly saved him and patched him up?

The Walking Dead would be better if they didn't try so damn hard to make it into a soap opera. Just give us a world where mankind is no longer the alpha predator but instead the prey. Give us some smart people who find ways to survive, and some not so smart ones that get eaten. Then make it about survival, not romantic drama.

But then the Governor would be the main character, and one of the only that survive. All of Rick's pity party crew would die out pretty quickly. The only character they have developed into anything decent is Carol. She went from a weak, pathetic individual to a real survivor. Daryl was already developed to the point of being likable at the very start, so they haven't really done much to move him along. Everyone else is pretty awful.

I would guess it's a purely budgetary factor, tbh... I know the entire farm/barn season was a result of the AMC execs telling WD to save money by using fewer sets.

GoT also has a lot of stuff cut down for budget reasons! They just do so well with the budget they do have, it isn't so noticeable.

I'm cautiously optimistic about the spin-off... I'm interested to see what Robert Kirkman can come up with now that he's already got some TV experience under his belt and won't be constrained by having to somewhat follow along with the comic series.

I'm assuming from the start, it'll be centered around some kind of home base just to limit the budget from the beginning, to have more money to spend on other stuff.
