GoT also has a lot of stuff cut down for budget reasons! They just do so well with the budget they do have, it isn't so noticeable.

Yes, of course GoT cut stuff for budgetary reasons. I'm not saying that they should not do that, I'm saying that they can't cut the meat of the show out to save money. And that is what the second season of Walking Dead did, they tried to cut the zombies out of a zombie show and make it about a bunch of people who don't like each other that are forced to live together on a farm.

I'm cautiously optimistic about the spin-off... I'm interested to see what Robert Kirkman can come up with now that he's already got some TV experience under his belt and won't be constrained by having to somewhat follow along with the comic series.

I'm assuming from the start, it'll be centered around some kind of home base just to limit the budget from the beginning, to have more money to spend on other stuff.

I don't know how well a zombie show will do with a static location. It kind of quickly removes most of the threat if you have a secure base to work from.

But, I'm hopeful as well.

How could you not love the last episode. Starts with the liberty bell death wheel, has a little cannibal camp thrown in, and you even get to wonder how they managed to "knock out" a zombie long enough to tie them up as an early warning system.

I have to say, this show is pretty entertaining to watch. It's campy, but fun.

So I finally watched this show. I wasn't expecting much honestly, but was pleasantly surprised. Maybe I'm in the minority, but the first 3 episodes are better than anything Walking Dead has done for the last 3 seasons. (except some of the governor stuff).

It's not great....I'm not saying that, it just..has a bit of comedy in it and has some pretty creepy elements (the baby?) even if some of it is rather inconsistent (the baby). Basically there's just a bit more imagination in it and not tied completely down by trying to be gritty. Kind of reminds me a bit of that other short lived show Death Valley. I am annoyed by the same old "guy can't let woman go" theme, but it seems they wrapped that up.

And yes, the liberty bell scene was awesome.

Each episode has some moments that make it a good enough show to keep up with. Loved the along the road sequence at the beginning.

Scifi went a bitt too far with their website promotion crap though when they had so many scenes of the NSA guy "chatting with" the girl.

Hah, yea I thought it was a series finale at first, until the credits said it would be back in 2015.

Honestly this show isn't too bad. It doesn't take itself seriously and pokes fun at the content it's borrowing from, with a few original ideas thrown in.

Little House on the Prairie, Zombie Edition.

The Walking Dead would be better if they didn't try so damn hard to make it into a soap opera. Just give us a world where mankind is no longer the alpha predator but instead the prey. Give us some smart people who find ways to survive, and some not so smart ones that get eaten. Then make it about survival, not romantic drama.

Spoilers if you haven't watched The Walking Dead:

That's what annoys me about The Walking Dead too, and the flashbacks about the 'scientist' which immediately made it clear that he was just claiming that he had info for a cure to help him survive.

The Governor annoyed me in that those who knew what he had done still were willing to trust him and didn't tell the others about it. They had no reason to give away power to him, and had no reason to believe that they wouldn't be next.

And that the 'gang' didn't at least build a somewhat proper wall around the prison compound after the first attack annoyed me too. Knock down the trees around the prison, get some diggers to dig a deep moat which you fill with barbed wire (seeing the zombies didn't try to get unstuck once they got stuck somewhere), make a drawbridge or so if possible, raid a military compound so you have heavy weaponry in case you need it, and put up sandbags and sheets of metal and such against the fence to prevent the zombies from being able to see you. Get concrete to fix the holes elsewhere in the prison, close off all gates in the sections you don't use, and then even if someone like the Governor tries to attack you again you have the firepower to fight back and even if they approach through the prison itself you'll have more than enough warning as they have to cut through or blow up the gates one by one.

Z Nation is full of holes and doesn't have great acting, but it lacks the soapy stuff that annoys me in TWD. While the first few seasons of that were better than Z Nation I kinda like the latter more now. It's mindless fun, with enough action to keep it interesting and not regularly 20 minutes of talking without anything happening.

Mac is the guy. He jumped out the car to go back to addy because she stayed with the women. I thought i heard 2 gunshots and then at the end, the little girl had addy's necklace.
Then the next episode roberta asked citizen z of he found them or something . Then last episode we see mac and addy looking at the missiles in the air.

But, what kind of fail safe would that be, if the whole point of a fail safe is to wipe out that lab (and a 50 mile radius around it) ?

Maybe Murphy turns into a reptile type human, and what's-her-name that he infected is the new Murphy...
