z77 specific memory?

Accidentally picked up 1333mhz ddr3 when I wanted 1600mhz and now that I'm returning them, I'm trying to figure out which memory to replace it with. It was G.skill, and Newegg has this on sale but I don't know if it's compatible with the Sabertooth z77 board I have. The spec sheet on Asus' website barely has any 8x2 kits on it.

Also, I noticed that some of the manufacturers specifically have new lines of ram that are marketed for the z77 set -- does this really matter? What are they for the different manufacturers?

There is no Z77 specific memory. If you want my honest recommendation, get Samsung 30nm memory. It's listed as 1.35v and overclocks well. It will also not get in the way of any CPU cooler as they are ultra low profile (almost shorter than the memory slots they fit into). Unfortunately I cannot find them in 8GB sticks so if that is what you're looking for then what you posted will work. Beware that some CPU coolers don't offer much space for memory with tall heatspreaders.

The reason I'm leaning toward the G.Skill is that I know the heatspeaders will fit with the combo H100 and Sabertooth in my case. I really doubt the Corsair Vengeance line or even those TridentX dimms would fit. Just antsy that I can't find someone actually running this RAM in a Sabertooth z77 motherboard because I don't want to pay another restocking fee to get compatible memory.

H100 leaves room for any memory. My Noctua NH-D14, not so much lol. You'll be fine with the G.Skill. If you're really worried, ask on other forums too and I'm sure someone somewhere will respond using that combo.
