I'll keep the original questions in the thread, so others can learn from my stupidity.
**NEW PROBLEM**
Now I have another problem though. RAM, CPU and GPU are all in. No HD yet. Fire the computer up, I get a Qcode 99, with is Super IO Initialization. I figure thats because not everything is hooked up all the way, whatever.
So I try to boot into BIOS. I hit Del and F2, to no avail. I thought maybe the USB keyboard wasn't working yet. Luckily the Z87 Pro has a direct key which is supposed to boot directly into BIOS when pressed. That doesn't work either. The computer posts. Shows my processor and the speed its running, as well as detects the ram and the keyboard/mouse, as well as 3 hubs, whatever those are. It also states CPU Fan error, which I figured was an RPM issue that I could fix in Bios. But... I can't get into BIOS. Not sure why or where to go from here?
Thoughts?
It's been a loooong time since I've built a pc from scratch. I'm attempting that now and some of the new technology/plugs are a little different to me.
The problem I am having:
asus z87 pro motherboard, corsair 750w power supply, i5-4670k processor and a radeon 290x with 8 gigs of ram.
Initially I hooked up the EATXPWR connection, but forgot to hook up the EATX12V. I powered the mobo on using the power on switch and nothing fired up. The LED was red and I had a q code of 00. Then I realized my error, found some power connectors that looked like they would work for EATX12V to the power supply and hooked them up. This time when I tried to power it up the LED came on red, but I didn't get any q code errors, it was just blank.
Not really to sure where I'm going wrong here, probably more than one place! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
