Zacate E-350 and 65W power supply?

Can a Zacate-E350-based system run with a 65W power supply? I am thinking about the Antec ISK300-65 case.

I would add 8GB RAM and one notebook drive (maybe SSD).

(I have a similar Atom D510 config, with 1GB RAM, 320GB Disk, and it pulls less than 30W from the wall)

Yes, a 65W power supply will be more than sufficient. A Gigabyte mini-ITX E-350 board, 2x2GB 1.5V DDR3, one 5400rpm 2.5" HDD, and a case fan with an Antec ISK-100 drew no more than 33W from the wall under real world load scenarios in my experience.

i think it would easily work. my e-350 laptop only came with a 65W power brick and that has to power a monitor too.

Yes a 65W powersupply should be able to do it.

Yep considering that An E-350 has a TDP of only 18W, 65W should be fine. Even with 4x 3.5" SATA drives in there and an optical drive, you'd still be under 65W peak consumption.

I mean, jeez, my Dell 1747 laptop uses a 45W TDP i7 720QM, a 10-20W AMD 4650 HD, 2x 2.5" Hard drives, AND it has to power the LCD screen, and it still comes with only a 90W adapter (it should be a 130W, but it does work fine with a 90W adapter, even with the battery removed.).

Without staggered spin-up no way you could do 4 drives (even green ones) plus an e350 let alone with fans and such.

AFAIK the 150W version of the ISK 300 has an 80mm fan in the PSU that you can't swap out without voiding the warranty. The 65W version uses a notebook power brick so the PSU portion is fanless. Both versions have one 80mm fan for top exhaust, which can be undervolted or swapped out to make it near silent from arm's length away.

i would take a look at the isk-100 too. if you dont need th eoptical drive its smaller, and has 90W compared to the 65W one.
