yes

you said yes ... why ? I bet the difference in temp would be within 5 degrees. Any reviews on this thing ... i got one for my roommate when i built his comp but i am using stock and it seems just as good

edit: Within 2 degrees according to the reviews i have seen doesnt seem worth anything to me just over spending

Heres some reviews that show over 5 degree drops. It depends on what stock cooler you have, but in general you will get better cooling with the same or less noise.

My CPU is at least 5 degrees cooler. I overclocked my 2800 to 3200 speeds.

Yes this will cool a Socket 754 3400+. I have had the original 7000Cu on my 3400+ (which is now my backup, backup rig) for well over a year. No issues, but you do need to clean out the dust every once in a while. I think I have done it 2 times, but I like to keep my cases show room shine pretty.

Oh and it is the heatsink, fan, and fanmate (which is a manual speed controller).
