The board only has 8 RAM chips (8 * 32MB = 256MB), so no need to buy extra. Highly recommend this to just about anyone who likes a quieter system whil also wanting better temps!

Just to make sure you went for the Zalman rather than the NV Silencer?

As he didnt have to buy any further ramsink he went for the Zalman (8 ramsinks included) - Silencer have the copper plate.

im stuck between this and the vf700Cu for my 7800gt, the stock cooler is a damn turbine.

Found that one my self too: like the temps so ill buy the AC though the cleaning of it might suck (ll get my self some cans of compressed air as well )

The AC is the better cooler IMO... esp. for a 7800GT owner, as there is no memory on the top of the card, the AC's copper plate touches all the RAM chips, and of course the GPU all at once. Bundle that with quiet operation like the Zalman, exhausting the warm air out of the case, AND a tidy self sustained cooler with no wire mess, I can't see why anyone would even want the Zalman IMO. I'm gonna get a Rev3 when they are out in Canada. I had a rev1 NV5 on my 6800GT, it was great.

I now have a Zalman 700cu on my GTX now, temperatures are well down but it is not really all that much quieter than the stock cooler (which was quiet anyway) but the temps have come down by about 10c so im stoked as i can now play BF2 on max settings for more than an hour wihout crashing out and having to reset my PC, had a 3 hour session last night

P.S. was considering getting an AC Silencer 5 but could not find rev.3 any where to buy so i abandoned it, may still get one in the future as this 700cu does make a slight hum noise now and then but i do have my case open atm so i can hear everything!

I'm happy to see the VF700 works on the 7800s....the fan on my GT sounds like a banshee....probably because they didn't oil the bearings...chinese mother****ers...

So I bought a VF700 form zipzoomfly...it worked wonders on my 6800U, and I can't wait to OC with it on my 7800GT....plus, silence!!!!!!!!
