Did it occur to you because of medical complications abortions may have to happen late term.

This never happens. In these situations, the baby is simply delivered and the medical complications dealt with (mother or baby).

Harris started out looking a bit nervous, but after a few fact checks and zingers triggered the Trump. Shes on a roll now. He’s looking more and more unhinged. The moderation by David Muir is excellent.
I generally watch network news nightly on over the air TV. The last couple weeks at least I've been going with ABC and David Muir. Been seeing less R propaganda. There's some, but less than NBC or CBS.

June Biden debate, CNN flash exit poll of watchers: 67% said Trump won
Today’s debate: 63% said Harris won

That is within rounding the same result, just reversed. Note Today’s poll also included 6% more Republicans than Democrats in the poll.

I love the deflection from Jan 6th to Illegal immigration.
It's really all he's got. That, the Afghanistan withdrawal and lies about the economy. He said himself he's got no plan for a health plan to replace ACA. Says he will end the war in Gaza and Ukraine even before being sworn in. The tariff thing claiming China will pay. I was hoping Kamala would pin him down with that as being effectively a massive unequitable sales tax.

The focus group had a dial to indicate if they had positive or negative view. The cat eating rant. The independent line dropped like a rock. Strangely the Dem line didn’t drop the same amount. The Rep line stayed in the middle > _ <

What got me was how tactical she was being.

When the moderators actually asked an immigration question, (something Trump can get traction with) she answered then veered into attacking his rallies.

Instead of hitting her where she was less strong he took the bait and ranted about rallies. Was a thing of beauty.

She switched on prosecuting attorney mode.

Man what a debate. Harris started off shaky but just for a little bit. Man she got into her rhythm fast. She was needling him, poking him, throwing body shots, she was prepared and disciplined. Sure it could have been a little better but honestly you could not ask for much more than this. I am so proud and so excited to vote for her this fall. And apparently so is Taylor Swift dropping the childless cat lady bomb.

The crowd at the debate party, it was packed, The vibe was so good, beers, they provided food, we had a couple speakers before and right after the debate said the right things. The energy was amazing. I am in such a good fucking mood. But remember, do something. Seriously go phone bank, or if you don't like to talk on the phone write postcards, or if you don't like to write postcards go door knocking.

Do something. I have one door knocking trip planned in Pennsylvania. And doing a postcard night at one of my riding buddies friends next week. Going to try to do at least one more thing, besides being my usual charming self about politics to all the people I know.

Let's fucking destroy Trump people
Nah, fuck that noise. When I was a union business agent, I had to man the phone bank...cold calling union members about various political issues...half of which I really only knew the barest minimum about. (different areas than where I lived) I also had to walk precincts, knocking on doors...again, supporting issues I didn't really know much about. We'd get a 30 minute primer on the issue..."Now go get them!"

Never again.

He’s already melted down. He’s gone from the debate-prep fake persona of sounding reasonable to an angry raging blowhard, while Harris maintains a calm and professional demeanor with a smile that occasionally breaks out into laughter at him.
I hope the post debate polls asking people who won the debate bare this out.

What I'm finding interesting is that on X no one outside of MAGA thinks he won. They differ on the details and by how much, but everyone outside of the cult is giving it to Kamala. Even some very hard right accounts are saying he looked bad.

Trump is spreading the conspiracy black people are stealing pets and eating them. Being black but who has never stolen pets for food I have a question. If I wanted to steal a pet for a stir fry with fava beans and a nice Chianti which is better, cat or dog?

It seems to me the only reason there are people that think Trump actually won the debate is because they're stupid and/or gullible enough to believe those non-stop lies he literally chaingun fired throughout the "debate".

Well, it really wasn't a debate after all now was it? It was Kamala dragging Trump on his ass behind her while Trump is screaming, kicking and rattling off nonsensical bullshit off the top of his addled head. Kudos to Harris for wiping the floor with Trump's ugly puss.

Lol CNN focus group of undecided voters. 4 thought the orange monkey won the debate. Only one has talked so far but she voted orange monkey twice already.

Yeaa. They’re clearly deluded and probably weren’t actually undecided.
Well the first woman they talked to definitely wasn't undecided. She went from "undecided" to committed to DJT after this debate, which says all we need to know.

Having said that, Erie County was 50/50 in 2020 (so it probably went for DJT in 2016). This is the electorate we're dealing with, and these are some of the folks in battleground states that will decide the EC. There was one Black man, and everyone else looked Caucasian AFAICT. Only 4 said Trump won the night, so at least most of them seem reasonable (based on the slimmest evidence).

The one veteran front and center was upset about AF withdrawal, but I don't feel we got a clear picture of the situation. Trump negotiated with the Taliban, his administration did nothing as far as beginning the actual process of leaving, and left the incoming administration to hold the bag. I've said before that the Biden administration didn't adequately plan to leave; but once the shit hit the fan, the military evac was about as good as we could expect. The suicide bombing outside the Kabul airport was very tragic, and just highlights that staying in AF any longer was dangerous and foolish. To my understanding, most of the gear we left behind is old and doesn't have much real value, esp. without trained mechanics to maintain vehicles.

Most Americans couldn't point out AF on a map of Asia, so I'm actually a little surprised it's even mentioned 3 years later as a hot debate topic.

My point is that although for almost all of us, the choice has always been clear and easy. But my easy vote in Cali is essentially worthless, while the fate of our nation truly does rest in some of these independent voters in 7 key states. A winning strategy not only goes for high turnout, but needs to win uncommitted swing state voters as well.

Looks like it went as expected. Trump just doing his regular lie after lie after lie. And conservatives voted for this guy for almost 10 years now.
