i'm playing mario and luigi: dream team now, they talk way too much.

The only games I have are ocarina and Link Between Worlds. On a plain, boring black 3DS.

I heard about the good deal on fire emblem so I downloaded the demo to see if it was something I could get into. Unfortunately I've never been able to enjoy JRPGs and this was the same way.

And I've never been much for Mario either so unless and until a Metroid comes out I may be done with my 3DS sadly

I've got a bunch of store games, including zelda 1 & 2, on one 3ds. How do I play them on another and does it become cumbersome to swap which one they are being used on.

From what I've heard, my understanding is that if you buy games via the eShop (which I do) you're sort of boned if you want to switch to a different 3DS or need to replace yours or whatever...

what I've been told is that those purchases are one time affairs and permanently bound to not only that SD card, but that specific 3DS... non-transferable.

Super lame, if you ask me.

and thus why besides Zelda which came with it (and was unawre it wasn't a physical copy at time of purchase) I will not be using the digital downloads. Easier and cheaper just to hack and use it how I want.

I hacked the original PSP-1000 and it became the best handheld ever. The only way megaman 2 was meant to be played. I don't know if my Vita can be hacked as easily but I'd do it in a heart beat again. NES/SNES games are meant to be played on a handheld, and the Vita/PSP has a perfect screen for them.

I did a few digital downloads too, it's convenient but they are not really in your face up front about your inability to switch 3ds devices. I read that you can transfer the games somehow but not sure.

I think Pilotwings is fun as hell. I wish they had a good Chess game though. I kinda wish Nintendo would have quite the console side and stay focused on hand helds, the potential is there but of course might be too expensive if they made it with better specs.

It's a little slow in some emulation, especially snes, you can tell some differences between it and the actual console.
I have the PSP 3000, I had to use the overclock to 333mhz but sure, it's not bad at all and it's nice being able to play PS 1 games on it.

Master keys were cracked some time ago. Anything can be signed and run now, hacking no longer required. Even PSP 3000 with latest firmware can run anything.

This is not true. You can transfer eShop games from one 3DS to another and insert the old SD card and you are good to go. Speaking from first hand experience. If your 3DS is lost or malfunctions, then it gets a little more complicated.

I just got this in yesterday and it definitely helps with the small size of holding the controls. Figures it dropped in price since I bought it and Amazon took forever to get it to me with Prime (Prime guaranteed delivery was 12/4 and I got it yesterday, do the math!), but worth the $15 it is right now. I have been on the fence about getting one of these. I have the Zelda OOT 3DS. I already bought the game. So I am looking at having to trade off the the game due to this having a digital download or I could just buy a different XL. Opinions?

Target has XLs for 150 this week.

I'm not seeing too many titles coming in 2014 that gets me too excited. MegaMan 5 and
RetroCity Rampage are the only 2 on the list that raises my interests, a few others on the maybe list if they were to be really cheap. There are rumors of a new handheld in late 2014 and they are focusing on that. Dammit I want a new Metroid and Starfox. And get some more 3rd party action on board for crying out loud. WTF Nintendo?

I don't see many games for handheld systems that I could say with any certainty that I am following or interested in. Everything is coming to Console or PC. Even Strider and Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z

Yeah no console games...Maybe you should stop trying to act all high and mighty about the PC and you'll see a whole world of stuff.

Best Buy refused to match Target even with a picture of the tag. I called best buy customer service 800 number and dealt with a person for over 30 minutes and they wound up not matching it. What I did get was an offer for a 3DS XL for 150 and them mailing me a $45 gift card to cover the cost of the game to keep me as a customer.

Now I can get any 3DS XL I want as I already have the game. I may just get the Mario and Luigi bundle.
