Great game but I got stuck already. Princess wants to go east but 2 stones block my path, probably something else I'm supposed to do first. Never was very good at Zelda's, guess I'll have to get the strategy guide.
Also bought the new SMB2 and 50 games in 1.

Is it just me or does the dark world theme almost sound like it's going into the Ni no Kuni theme for a second or two?

I beat the second dungeon last night and now I'm wandering around picking up some stray heart pieces and such. Great game so far. Sliding along the walls really opens up a lot of fun opportunities for puzzles and hidden content.

Got mine today and been playing it most the day. I am really enjoying it so far...and unlike most, I do actually like the extra depth the 3D gives. It's not overdone at all.

My only real complaint is the analog stick..my thumb always slides off of it and it seems a bit high on the console.

My wife really enjoyed the face fighter thing...haven't really tried any of the other stuff yet.

I end up pushing on the side of the analog stick and not on top of it. I think the 3d is neat but it's difficult to keep it from looking blurry.

It's funny that consoles are expected to produce much more graphically than the handheld, but I wonder how many of us would be OK with an extremely well drawn game like this on the Wii-U instead of the natural 3D zeldas.

If you like this you should try Minish Cap too. Same thing, you shrink down and previously visited areas become whole new mini worlds. What's awesome is it was all there the whole time and you just never notice it.

So now that finally have a opened 3DS to play, I need to catch up on my still sealed 3DS library. I'm thinking Tales of the Abyss, Kingdom Hearts, Fire Emblem or one of the two Etrian Odyssey games?

Or SMT:IV. Tales of the Abyss translated nicely to the 3DS (If you ever played the original). Kingdom Hearts I haven't played yet. Fire Emblem is amazing (Be sure to play it on perma-death mode). EO 4 is the best, and the latest is a re-imaging of the original.

Have them all, will play them all, its just a matter of order

In fact I have the SMT IV box set still sealed

Need something to last 4 days. Didn't expect to 100% LBW in less than 24 hours. Should have known. LTTP had me stumped for a day at least when I first played it.

Yeah... First I failed in that I couldn't hold back. I started playing Friday on release... just the first dungeon to see if the item rental works...ill stop and save the rest for Thanksgiving... Fat chance.

Then second mistake was underestimating my Zelda veteran status and thinking it would actually take a while because I insisted on playing this brand new game without a 100% FAQ.

Nope, didn't matter, I played it like I'd played it before, taking my time to explore every crack before moving on, down to even the world treasure minigames. When I was confident that I had every piece of heart to be found by themselves, lo and behold the number I had left to acquire exactly matched the number of minigames id yet to play...

This isn't specific to the Zelda Gold 3DS XL but more of a generic 3DS XL question. One of the reviews I read complained about the placement of the d-pad and the analog stick. The stick seems to be kind of high relative to the device orientation but hard to tell looking at a picture. Is this something that bothers any of you guys? Looking to upgrade my DS Lite and figured this might be the one to get. (Or the lightning deal red or black one that's about to hit Amazon in a couple of hours)

Stick location is fine. Gives thumbs room to stretch when then bottom edge is in your palm.

Last thing you want is to have to fold your thumb up to reach it because its too low.

I don't like the placement. You have to hold it awkwardly to make it comfortable.

Being left handed, stylus requirements can be an incredible pain as they assume you're using your right hand. Needing to simultaneously use the d-pad and draw something with the stylus is near impossible for me.

There is some question that this may or may not be included in the target "Any 3DS XL bundle for $149" Black Friday deal.

Amazing if so.
