Hmm, I'm having trouble putting time into this game myself. Like last night, I found a shrine where you have to use the Wii U gamepad to tilt a platform to get a ball through a maze and then onto a platform.

It's annoying to have to do tasks like that to have progression. I find a number of things they want you to overcome to just be tedious and annoying. It's like the adding of motion to sword swinging on the Wii... except adding many more of them. Just ruins the game.
If you get frustrated, play it with the screen facing down and use the flat side of the maze.

On a positive note I've completely around 50 shrines so far and only had 3 motion control puzzles so far.

That's actually what I ended up doing because the motion detection is so terrible.

This is actually quite good.

It seems like there are elements to take time just for the sake of taking time, I'm hoping once I discover more locations, these time elements become less frequent because I can fast travel more often.

I also found it much easier to perform the motion portions with the pro controller or just the right joycon.

If only it was. Then I could put the Wii U Tablet in the closet! I got my Zelda garb swag so Link is looking oldschool and hardcore. Only thing I get from my amiibos now are a petty amount of rupees.

I figured out a cheat for that one. If you tilt the maze so it's almost vertical you can direct the ball to the center of the maze and take the shot from there. Much easier

I didn't have any problem with that one on the Switch, however I can't recall if that was before or after I got the pro controller, so it could have been with the Joycons. Either way, it was with the controller, and not the tablet. I'd imagine that would be more difficult for the Wii U. The maze was no issue, and I got the jump on the second attempt. For my first attempt at the jump the ball went straight up in the air and landed back on the maze, so I was able to immediately retry the jump. I assume, and hope (sorry Wii U users), any subsequent Shrines with similar puzzles are more difficult.

Of the three I've done out of 50 shrines one was easier and one was harder than the ball/maze puzzle. I love complexities in the puzzles but more often than not motion control puzzles are simple in design and hard in execution because your fighting against the controls. Maybe it's just my switch but take the maze puzzle, to get the maze to lay flat I have to have my switch positioned like a cube balanced on its vertex or point. It's just not natural.

I've gotten to the point where I fear no Lynel... I used to run away from them, now I charge toward them! They always provide great loot as well.

Stasis, attack, hide for stasis to recharge.

Rinse and repeat until dead.

Stasis!! OMG it works on enemies!? Not sure if I didn't know that or just forgot. This game just keeps getting better. I just got my ass handed to me by Lynel yesterday.

No stasis needed. Just parry and dodge. They vary in attack and weapons, but they do the same attacks over and over. I don't like using Stasis on enemies. I think it takes the fun out of fighting tough enemies.

I can't parry for shit or fury attack well. Even with 21 hearts and 2x upgraded armor I was getting my butt kicked. @ nashemon yes stasis will work if you upgraded it

Parrying is hard. Doing the backward flip, which gives you a high chance to do a flurry attack is not as hard, as it doesn't need to be perfect timing wise. I have about 10 hearts and two times upgraded Barbarian armor. Those Lynel horns come in handy with the Barbarian armor.

Ugh, I'm gonna face my first Lynel. I just got to Zora's Domain and need to kill one.

I'm really getting distracted a lot in this game. The Switch says I'm over 25hrs played in Zelda and barely getting to my first divine beast area.

I'm with you. I've played 15hrs or so without touching the divine beast quests. Don't worry though. The Lynel in Zora's Domain is dumbed down and pretty easy. He doesn't hit hard at all. The one in Gerudo Highlands is probably the toughest one I've faced thus far. I've heard there are tougher ones though.

For all the time I've put in the game I still only have 6 hearts lol. With minimal spoilers, can anyone tell me how soon I can get the Master Sword and what it takes? Weapons breaking constantly is starting to get old. Also, while you can tackle the dungeons in any order, is there a "preferred" order to doing them challenge wise or are they all equally difficult?

Why do you "need" to kill one?

You need 13 total hearts for the master sword. Do the zora dungeon first the rest after do in any order

I don't have the game but from what I saw on a youtube video, you need 13 hearts to get the Master Sword. I don't know if there are any other requirements though.

As everyone pretty much knows, being an open world game, you can go nearly anywhere and do anything you want whenever you want. Though, there are some built-in limits with the game's progression mechanic. Such as not being able withstand the temperature, fly/climb/swim far enough, have enough defense for the enemies, or high enough sneak. So, as long as you know where something is, you can get to it with the right equipment/food/stats. You can kill anything with bombs and some strategy and lots of patience.

For the Master Sword, there's a heart requirement, as stated by others. I had 6 when I reached it. It doesn't tell you in the game how many you need, though. So I went venturing and came back with a couple more and still couldn't obtain it. I'm kind of sad that I know how many I need now. Maybe it's a good thing, though, since now I can continue playing normally instead of shrine hunting for the next few days thinking I might only be one heart away.

Is anyone playing anything else? I can't seem to turn my gaming PC on after playing this game... I was about 50hrs in TW3 before I got BOTW and I can't seem to stop playing Zelda...I love TW3, but sadly it will wait until I'm finished with BOTW.
