I faced my 4th divine beast last night and man was it easy. It was the one up in the sky. The puzzles on that one seemed way easier than some of the others and I beat the boss without taking even 1 hit. I definitely feel like there was an "order" for the beasts as far as difficulty and probably the way Nintendo wanted people to do them, and I think I went way out of that order lol.

Got my Hylian Shield, Master Sword and oldschool Hero's Tunic. Ready to go after my first spirit beast in Zora's Domain! What is the "proper" order after that?

That was the first one I did. I would put that as the 3rd most difficult one for me. Most difficult for me was the one in the desert partially because the boss was an asshole and I was fighting the controls more than the boss himself. Easiest one is the one up in the mountains in the SW of the map and the 2nd easiest was the one in the lava mountains.

I'm going to try and get the master sword tonight if i have time, i need like 6 more shrines. I used a good amount of orbs on stamina instead of hearts prior to knowing the heart requirement for the master sword.

There is a Hinox on the peninsula of Herin lake, southwest of Faron Tower. Paraglide down onto him while he is sleeping and grab the Royal Bow right off his belly, as well as a couple decent swords. I do this every time there is a blood moon. I have like 5 Royal Bows now. Actually, just to the right of Faron tower there is a grove that produces roughly 15 hearty durians. So I start there, then paraglide south, grab up a bunch of bananas, then paraglide west onto the Hinox. It is a very productive route for gathering pretty much all you need in like 3 minutes. Around Satori mountain, there are like 8 endura carrots and a bunch more hearty durians.

I know you're close, but there is a way to trade Stamina upgrades for Hearts and vice versa in Hatano Villiage.

Oh damn interesting I did not know that. There are some villages I didn't walk around and talk to every one in yet and I need to go back and do that.

Holy crap, top gear and haven't even hit your first Divine Beast yet, and I though I was bad not to doing my first on at around 30 hours.

I've got the Master Sword. Doesn't hit that hard for normal baddies. I do like that I can cut off the legs off Guardians, like Ancient weapons do- oh so fast. I was Guardian hunting last night trying to upgrade my Ancient Armor set. I got one more Divine beast and two more towers to unlock. I've now been playing for 70+ hours. 16 hearts and working on my third stamina wheel.

How do you all know how long you have been playing? Just guestimating or is there a time log in the game somewhere?

If you have a Switch, go into your profile. it will show the estimated game time. You'll need your Nintendo account linked in order to see it.

It's so weird too, it doesn't even let you know until ten days after the you've owned the game.

So I decided for sniggles I'd go armor collecting and holy crap guys, there's so much of it. Having the right gear makes going on foot SO much easier. The Hebra Snowfields can't stop me now!!

I finally got all the three pieces of climbing gear and having all three makes a huge difference in the climbing ability. I'd almost make it necessary to have with how much you climb in this game. I have not upgraded my stamina once yet, going all hearts so it makes a huge difference.

What pisses me off is that it rains. CONSTANTLY. And that raining makes it so you can't climb. I remember finding a little cave in one area when it was thundering out and setting a fire to sleep at until morning. Still raining. Did it again and STILL IT WAS F$5ING RAINING. ugh. I hope they roll out a patch that lowers the frequency of that crap.

Weapon durability sucks, but at least I can usually cope by adapting or pulling off a bunch of wild tricks and tactics. But when it pours, I just can't explore. So much of this game is climbing and when it pours constantly while you're trying to reach the top of a mountain or get to a remote shrine, you may as well put up the game as your progress is stunted.

I think they're subtly nudging us into defeating enemies without the conventional hack and slash by using your skills instead. (You'll notice there are always metal crates in moblin camps you can use with your magnet, along with things you can time freeze) Another tactic is to drop a bomb parallel to a red explosive barrel and use a leaf weapon to blow it towards it. Boom! Also in a pinch I'll drop a bomb when I'm running away from something and I detonate it as they chase me. Sometimes if they're right on my tail I'll throw the bomb forwards instead, then dash ahead of it and detonate the bomb under the pursuer as soon as I'm clear of the blast zone.

Long story short, a lot of situations can be cleared without whipping out your sword.
I killed a whole camp of Bokoblins with a metal ball last night. It was far more satisfying than I thought it would be. Swinging it through the whole camp like a wrecking ball, dropping it on the last one's head. I wish the "pull in" "pull out" control could be mapped differently, kind of hard to do that while backpedaling, but it was hilarious.

I'm never going to finish this game. Having too much fun just exploring, playing with the mechanics and physics, and discovering new things to do.

Unpopular opinion: I actually enjoy the rain mechanic. The thunder I can do without, but the rain adds an interesting variable when you're trying to get from point A to point B for me.

I don't mind the rain as well. It forces you to try another way to get to your destination. I don't mind the lightning now that I have the Thunder Helm Even without it, it forces you to use wooden weapons and shields and can make the game more challenging. Now that I think about it. I gotta go back and try to beat Eventide island...

The weapon durability stinks in the beginning and middle of the game, but when your over 50hrs of game play, I hate having to to choose which weapons to keep. I've thrown away some mighty fine swords to make room for better ones. My weapon inventory is almost maxed as well.

When it rains and I'm in the middle of climbing to something, I just put my Switch down and go get a drink or do something else, but don't put it in sleep mode.

Yesterday I was trying to carry the blue torch from point A to point B and it was a long path with enemies in between, and it started raining so I couldn't even keep a flame burning lol.

I had a spout of rain yesterday that bothered me a bit, but I don't think it rains THAT much, and I do a lot of climbing. You can also see the upcoming whether right next to the clock. Unless you've turned off the HUD, you have plenty of opportunity for planning before you start your ascent. Even so when it's raining, you can still climb faster than you fall if you use jumps appropriately, especially with armor that reduces stamina usage, so you can still usually make it to the next level on many cliffs.

Anyone know how much stamina you need to capture the royal white horse on the side quest? Answer in spoiler tags if you want in case some people don't want to know. I thought I had a lot and used an elixir to keep it going, but I still couldn't do it.
