Just FYI you can get a refurb Wii U direct from Nintendo for $200 and it comes with Nintendo Land.The game looks amazing. My problem is I don't have a Wii U. I thought about buying one, but $300 for a dead console just seems a bit steep.
I don't really want to buy a Switch either, because I am not sure what the prospects of the Virtual Console or Ports will be.

If I knew for a fact that I would be able to play Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword on the Switch, I would be buying a Switch no doubt.
Also want to try Mario Sunshine and the Mario Galaxy games.
This sense of wonder is something that I haven’t felt so strongly since I played A Link to the Past when I was seven years old. Ocarina of Time was able to capture some of that same magic in my teenage years. Now that I’m in my thirties, I don’t think that I expected it to be possible for a game to make me feel like that again.
I'm the same way, us that grew up with games, it's hard to be wow'd because we've seen it all. Reviews like that make me super excited to play it.I only skimmed a few reviews as I don't want to get spoiled, but the best part I found is that this game doesn't start off slow. That is what I really hated about Twilight Princess. You basically were in a tutorial/training mode for like 6 hours or some shit. I never made it past then because I was just bored to death. Glad that isn't the case here.

That pretty much explains my exact feelings of those 2 games and I am now in my 30's as well, so that is great news. Now I'm once again excited about the Switch in this roller coaster of emotions as to whether or not to go through with my preorder.

Try to find a used one... especially one that comes with a few games. The Wii U does have some good games, but of course, it would depend on your interest in those series. For example, if you never liked Donkey Kong Country, you won't like the Wii U's Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze.

edit: So Amazon support says that Nintendo sent them far fewer copies than they ordered so lots of people will not be getting their pre-orders tomorrow as promised. I don't really care about having it the first day, but having it for her birthday would have been nice.
Yeah that was definitely later, that's probably why you got bumped and other people are as well. I got in the first pre-order in January when they officially announced the Switch.I'm not sure what the timing of the "waves" was. I placed my order on 2/10 when they sent me a 20% pre-order discount offer, so maybe the second wave.
