Was the KB5041587 update for Windows 11 suppose to increase Windows 11 performance for Ryzen 7000 and 9000 series CPUs in CPU driven scenarios, especially in Flight Simulator 2020? I switched to Windows 11 for this reason recently but I'm not seeing any better performance according to numbers than in Windows 10. In fact I went from 67 fps in MSFS 2020 in Windows 10 to 63 fps in Windows 11 (with the KB5041587 update installed). Benchmark CPU scores are about the same as in Windows 10 after the Windows 11 KB5041587 update and before the Windows 11 KB5041587 update. DOS emulation, through DOSBox Staging, with CPU cycles set to max and running various benchmarks in the DOSBench suite didn't change either after this update and performance there is the same as in Windows 10. I have an Ryzen 7 7800X3D and a RTX 4090.

You could try 7-max or the hidden admin account trick mentioned here: http://www.portvapes.co.uk/?id=Latest-exam-1Z0-876-Dumps&exid=thread...indows-and-improved-benchmark-scores.2621417/

I saw some gains in the unlocked Administrator account even after KB5041587 update but I had to use 7-max for that. FFXV benchmark saw the score improve from 16159 to 16180. That might sound very less but I wasn't able to get even 16160 before the patch so it is definitely doing something. The CPU I benchmarked is an Epyc Zen 2 ES, with only two cores per CCD enabled so each core gets the maximum cache it can for a total of 16 cores with SMT disabled.

Interesting observations with Ryzen 5 8600G & overclocking the FCLK or Infinity Fabric Clock with 20% boost from stock & stable too on B650 chipset board. Stock cooler in use with closed up case. XMP profile for RAM in all test results.
Tests were down with Windows 11 23H2 & KB5041587 update, VBS & HVCI enabled so a vanilla OS. No fancy cutting this or stopping that going on in the software side of things with the OS.
This is the kind of overclock testing I love to do...more real world like for the average end user.

Stability test results with 3.5hrs Large FFTS in prime95;

Mem Test Pro, over 650% coverage except the last thread which is always slow in Windows 11 a scheduling issue in the OS with this program. Version 7.0 is the latest of MTP.

Now the performance increase in Memory Read is quite outstanding considering the RAM & CPU (PBO enabled) are running at XMP & AMD defaults for PBO. HVCI & VBS are enabled in Windows 11. Aida 64 will warn of this before producing results. Latest official version of Aida 64 used.

Before FCLK overclock...

2400 FCLK applied with 1.26v on SOC applied in bios. This was an educated guess on my part for stability with the FCLK despite never having OC the FCLK this high before on any AM5 cpu I have to date. But it paid off...

Nice to see a free uplift in memory read performance purely by pushing the FCLK on the 8600G. Can't complain about that!

Gigabyte have updated the bios again for this board, so see how the next step up in FCLK goes...

I sometimes wonder how gaming would go with an 8700G & its FCLK on or very near to 2500 FCLK using a dGPU & 1440p?

Is 1.26v vSoC going to be safe?
1.25v could be refined more but takes considerable time to test for lower, besides that 1.30v is max recommended by AMD.
My 7600X needs 1.22v for 2167 FCLK to be stable. A far cry from this 8600G needs for 2400 FCLK stress testing & stable. Apart from that AMD claims up to 1.30v max for SOC.
The point of my post was to highlight the astonishing FCLK speeds & the impact on memory read performance at least with an XMP profile working on this board & without any tweaking of RAM timings. This can be achieved on 8000 series unlike 7000 or 9000 series where most chips there will top out at 2167 speed or 2200 if lucky in the silicon lottery.

The 7600x3d is no longer MC exclusive. They will be selling at Mindfactory in Germany for 329Euros.

Dude, you are seriously tempting me into throwing some bucks on 8700G!

I'm really confused at the moment. Do I get 9700X, 8700G or 7373X?? The last one would be the most expensive but 768MB cache has my mouth watering like some old dude's incontinent bladder!

Germany deserves better allocation than the U.S. IMO. They have shown an overwhelming preference for AMD. That should be rewarded. The price will take care of itself, it always does. E.G. I recall all of the whinging about the 5600X being $300 at launch. Now, it's the best selling retail CPU of all time. Always clear out the early adopters for max profit first. The rest of us wait it out.

Depends what you wanna do with an 8700G. If for gaming in SFF build, then yeah @ 1080p with some whatever high speed RAM it can do in 1:1 format would be a nice little gaming box & cool running as well cause' no dGPU in it adding heat to the whole system allowing the PBO mechanism to boost for longer. So easy to OC the FLCK on this Phoenix architecture!
Don't need RAM with ultra tight timings, its the bandwidth that benefits the iGPU on these chips.

My 8600G easy tuning to PBO can match the 5.1GHz boost of the 8700G so that's an added bonus for nothing.

7373X cost big $ & the motherboard?

Still no first party 7950X3D or 7800X3D on Amazon. I guess the 40K bundle made the deal too sweet to resist? The 7900X3D is collecting dust. KB5041587 helping with that now?

Newegg lists 7800X3D ETA Friday. $400 with the bundle. Can't keep them in stock and it isn't even the holidays yet. Better sort it out if they want all the monies.
