Those specs are pretty good for the price.

Well, even more cheeper B650 models are coming soon.

I don't understand, why those two models have so many PCIe 16x slots or mix 4.0 and 3.0 standards.

Given the cheaper hardware, these models will have significantly lower prices. In Short, very good motheboards for any Zen4 or Zen 5 CPU with 65W TDP.

3D V-Cache CPU-s, also no problem for such VRM hardware in combination with significantly lower power consumption of the 3D V-Cache CPU-s.

Gigabyte B650M-C, hm that is the same pasive VRM heatsink as found on my B450 Gigabyte motherboard.

Of those 3 only the ASRock B650M-C has a pcie 5 storage slot. If I were building AM5 on a budget I would at least try for that for future use.

First initial 7950x3d run for me

Not sure how good these numbers are compared to other Zen4X3D riggs, but atleast low's are pretty good i think.
  • CPU Game min = 370 fps
  • CPU Game average = 462 fps
  • CPU Game 95%s = 400 fps (look at the flat line in graf )

Did you test your 7900 XTX to see if it's working fine?

No, it's still in the box.

edit: I don't currently have a good way to test it. If I want to install it in my current rig, I have to tear down my entire WC setup and reroute around an aircooled card. Not something I want to do. Maybe I could use a PCIe riser cable to test it, but the odds of me getting a dead Merc new in the box are so low it's kind of . . . why bother?

Why the heck isn't Gigabyte selling their B650 mini ITX board in Europe? I'm planning a small form factor build around the 7800X3D and from the reviews I've seen and read the AM5 Gigabyte boards seem to be the best performers with the lowest idle power consumption, the fastest boot times and with the least issues in general.

You have great patience. I wouldn't have been able to resist testing such a powerful card.

I did have a PNY NIB 3080 that I sold at a loss. Didn't test it only coz I wanted to sell it for profit. Instead, I had to eat loss.

Now I've got a NIB ASUS LC 6800 XT. Which I also intend to sell for at least a meager profit. I'm really praying against a loss. If it comes to that, I'll have to use it myself and sell my used AORUS RX 6800.

Well honestly I kinda wish I had a Liquid Devil instead. Looks like a pretty good card. But I'll go with what I've got.

ASRock has a B650E ITX board, and their newest BIOS should bring boot times on par with gigabyte.

Which MB maker has the best reputation for firmware updates for supporting future cpus? Gonna build an early Zen4 machine, with the intention of dropping a Zen5 or maybe 6 in it later.

has there been some confirmation that desktop Zen 5 will use the same CPU socket as current Zen 4??

7700X, X670E, 32GB DDR5-6000 combo for $500!

Check this out on @Newegg: AMD Ryzen 7 7700X - 8-Core 4.5 GHz CPU and ASRock X670E PG Lightning AM5 ATX Mainboard and G.SKILL Flare X5 Series AMD EXPO 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR5 6000 Desktop Memory https://www.newegg.com/Product/Comb...e&cm_mmc=snc-social-_-sr-_-4538151-_-03132023

Now that is a tempting deal. Basically $150 or so for mobo and ram. A similar DDR5 based setup, same ram, ddr5 steel legend mobo and a 13500 = $544. So maybe you could go cheap on mobo, with ddr4 to save $50-100. Same if you build a 7600X system. I think these deals are really the only way to motivate people for either brand to go new over last gen midrange with ddr4. Any desire I had to try an intel e-core build this year is rapidly fading.

My nephew has always had crappy laptops before and I mailed him my Nvidia 1080 / Intel 4770k rig and he just got it and is setting it up. I really hope it survived the shipping process. It was still playing my games at acceptable frame rates at 1080 so I am sure he will love it. He is just turning 14. The 4770k is overclocked to 4200 all cores and the RAM is nice and at 2133.
