Jumping from 6** to 8** is a bad look when its not even iterative, just rebadged. Gives the impression that its a new generation.
That's definitely not confirmed in any way. The bios releases with the new AGESA have been changelog noted "Update AMD AGESA 1.1.7.0 Patch A for next gen. Ryzen processors support" or similar. I'd figure they are intentionally avoiding exposing the numbering scheme.But won't it be Ryzen 9000?

I'm pretty miffed about Gigabyte putting old dead CMOS batteries into their boards. My X670E Aorus Master battery is dead, but they used 600iq to put the battery under the chipset heatsink, whose screws are under the motherboard backplate. And it's installed in a cramped custom loop.Maybe? Technically the X570 and X570S were the same, but the X570S (at least in my experience) was a WAY more stable platform to build around. My 5950X + the Gigabyte X570S was rock solid stable. Easily the most stable board I've used for AM4 chips. All the BIOS options worked without issue, great RAM compatibility, and no fan on the chipset. If AMD had made an AM4 version of Zen 4 I would NOT have upgraded my board.
X670 has been terrible. Between SoC voltage issues, buggy BIOS/UEFI, long training times, etc....I don't want to upgrade my board again, but if someone actually makes a board that is as solid as the one mentioned above was, I will.
My current ASUS Mini ITX board won't let me enable PBO. I can even try and enable it, but set everything to stock, and I still get crashes, so that is definitely a buggy BIOS issue. I will admit, however, that things HAVE improved, but it still has a long way to go.

Because they used old dead batteries, I have to remove two radiators, tubing, the motherboard, then remove the backplate, then the chipset heatsink just to swap the battery.
If there is a single good-looking board announced that (physically) fits my specific installation, I'm upgrading it. For this headache, if the Gigabyte board comes out it's never going back in.

I'm really looking forward to the gaming improvements. It's been AMD's Achilles heel against RPL in the DIY market. If giant ROBs and overhauled front end nets it even 20% better gaming performance, that's a big win imo.With all this Zen 5 hype, I’m expecting >30% IPC improvements.

Nah, where else did the FX 8350 outsell the 4690K or 4670K?Circa 2015-16 AMD sales in germany were very low, much less than Intel s current 15-20%, so that s not a matter of AMD being allegedly prefered in Germany but of competitivity, they started to slowly regain marketshare with Zen 1 up to current levels wich they never achieved previously, even during the Athlon 64 era.

Germany liked AMD and Zen 1-4 has given them no reason to stop.
Technically TIE Interceptors and Defenders used laser cannons, not turbo lasers. Turbo lasers are on a larger scale. Though there was an odd project called TIE Bizzaro I believe, that actually mounted a single turbo laser on the fighter. It was kinda weird.That's a sick joke, sorry. I would rather it was eDRAM or even super low latency DDR3-2400 than high latency DDR5. DDR5 bursts are like the Deathstar firing a powerful barrage of data at the CPU. Excellent except when that's not what you need. Sometimes you just need a quick turbolaser from a Tie Interceptor or a Tie Defender.

Are you being dense on purpose? It's cumulative sales. And in no large market in the world did cumulative sales of the FX-8350 exceed the 2500K or 4670K or 4690K except in Germany's DIY market.
Saying Mindfactory represents a good sampling of sales is hilarious. You'd think Radeon was selling well instead of 10-15% of the market.
