You are all assuming that his "sources" are legit and not someone trolling him (again).
I guess Tom is just too small for SEC to audit his activities, it smells like market manipulation to me (although I can't exclude the possibility that his level of unwarrented self-importance is well over 9000)

Or maybe, knowing this, he is trolling his “sources” (this time), who knows...

I may have found a way to identify some of his questionable quotes. Bear with me:

In the video where he was trolled with the fake slide, he based the first of his alleged testimonials on that slide. And in both of these he uses the Expression "Oh, and...":

Source 1: "[...] Oh, and please note, that the average IPC Uplift will not be close to 40% [...]"

Source 2: "Oh, and we were also told, that both client and server Zen 5 are targeting Q3 for launch."

And in his newest video from yesterday:

Source 2: "[...] Oh, and I should warn you, that Turin AI sounds cancelled".

I assume, that all of these sources are not real quotes and that Tom ist making them up at least to a certain degree. And while making them up he accidentaly uses an expression like "oh, and" to basically make it sound like an interesting information tidbit. At least I will be extra extra careful, when I read "oh, and" in Tom's videos from now on.

Sherlock Holmes signing off... :-D

EDIT:

Just checked his Zen 7 / Prometheus leak. Haha, get this:

"Oh, and it has a large focus on reducing power consumption consistently [...]"

If clocks are near identical and the core count is the same. Where do such people think performance improvement comes from?

IPC

The CLOCKS are the same. That itself is a big hint. Its going to be a bloodbath. If MLID thinks all AMD can muster is 15% in 2 years when Zen 5 is a "ground up" redesign, then he needs to wake up.

Cortex X925 was a ground up redesign, no? It has only +17% IPC. The era of huge IPC gains is no more. Perhaps Zen5 will be an exception and set a new blazing trail.

This is just rebrands.
My apologies, btw, if I sounded a bit abrasive. I just found about these changes/launches/rebrands/whatever a few months ago, and when I hinted at it here you were quick to shoot it down.
This dude. I become should become a YouTuber and sell snake oil. I maintain my >30% IPC uplift.
Honestly I personally have considered it, but I am an autistic dude, nobody would watch me lol.

Yep, also, Zen 5 having same peak SC clocks was hinted at a while back.

Zen 5 is an absolute beast.

Everyone in the industry x86, ARM, and RISC-V alike, are going to be chasing AMD’s performance. Good luck catching up.

I just wish Strix Halo were dropping sooner. 😭 I buy laptops with high end CPUs/midrange GPUs every time I upgrade due to my mixed workload, so it looks to be perfect for my next laptop. I also hope AMD doesn’t cancel it.

Ha great, you have more information than us mere mortals. Including roadmaps from all companies doing CPU design

I'm excited as all others about Zen5, but why do people make such grandiloquent claims less than 2 days before the announcement?
