Sure, but you have to compare it with current Ryzen 7000 prices. I have no doubt many will do that and be disappointed when considering the (apparently) rather small performance increase.
That's... stupid. Like... utterly stupid.

If that was reality, (eg) Zen4 would start at 100, and drop to 70 by the time Zen5 is out; Zen5 starts at 70 and drops to 50 by the time Zen6 is out; Zen6 should come out at 50 and drop to 20... Zen7 given away for free after 6 months?

That's not how any of this has worked for the last... ever! A new product resets MSRP, old stock is now limited shelf life, get one of you're savvy and lucky, but some people will pay for the latest.

At least AMD gives you the option to only have to pay for the CPU (if you had Zen4). Intel used to reset MSRP, but force you to buy a new main board and probably new RAM, for 3-5% gain.

Did you complain then?

I wonder if different retailers have been given different indicative pricing so AMD can find leakers. They did that with eyefinity by giving it different code names so they could tell where the leak came from depending on what code name was reported.
I should have done an MLID and changed his name and the prices. Too late now....

I suppose they have a huge amount of dealers. So how many different prices we're they giving out? Like 9950X will be $399, $400, $401, ... , $499, $500? Each dealer would have to be given a unique price if AMD should be able to identify them.

And what is meant by code name in this context? You mean SKU name, so some said 9950X, and some 9951X, etc?
