Yikes, 524 messages and someone asks "What does BestBuy have to do with this?" This is the reason that there are so many messages, no one reads more than the last few and ask the same questions, over and over and over.

Then there are people like me that add more messages complaining about it! I should be shot.

well ok, smart@ss, I guess I did not take the time to read all 500+, but I also added there is no CompUsa in my area, so tell me if I were to try to pricematch with bestbuy what would I present to them for proof since there are no flyers for me to show them. Oh i know i'll just print your message out here and they should accept that right!

I will go back and read a few more but seems to me bestbuy has nothing to do with my situation.

It wasn't my message to print. You never know, I have gotten Staples to price match against a printout of a web page of a competitor. It really depends on the customer service rep... it is worth a shot, isn't it?

Did you look at your best buy? A lot of them had them marked down to 129.99 because of the CompUsa sale. They would rather sell them at that price than 110% of the difference before the reduction (115 or so).

Saturday...Saturday...Saturday!!!!

If you didn't know about this deal until Sunday morning like everyone else in the country who got a Sunday paper or you knew about it but waited until Sunday morning, then I don't have any sympathy for you.

If you tried on Saturday and were turned away at CompUSA for whatever reason, or don't have any CompUSA's in your area, then I have some sympathy.

I went to 3 different CompUSA's on Saturday, when I thought the deal was one per store, and all 3 had many in stock. The store I purchased 8 drives from still had 10-15 in stock on Sunday morning, so anyone who went on Saturday would have gotten 1 or more. I was there pricematching and I saw the frenzy at that store.

Side Note: I was always curious just how many people really view these forums. Anyway I put up the scan of the CompUSA ad and have had more than 3000 hits for the picture in less than 2 days. Kind of suprising never thought there were that many people.:Q

Don't take this wrong as I believe that is what he told you (and it may be correct) but why would they put the (s) on the end of words like UPC(s), rebate(s) if you couldn't inlude more than one in an envelope?

I am going to call and ask them that question and see what they say... of course, what do they know.

I just got off the phone with an Iomega rebate center guy.

This is what he told me:

Fill out a separate rebate request attach a copy of the receipt and UPC symbol for EACH drive.

He told me that multiple of the above CAN be sent in one envelope. The key is to fill out a separate rebate request for each drive.

BTW, he sounded very bored... he must be answering this same question a million times. Give him a call, I am sure he will appreciate it!

Your mileage may vary. I hold not responsibility for you getting your rebates. Offer only valid if spinning on head while eating froot loops.

I think Hugenstein is one of only a very select few who really understood the real nature of this beautiful deal!! It was spelled out in fine detail how to maximize this for those people who wanted to listen on Saturday. After Hugenstein's scan, the deal was all but 'signed, sealed, and delivered' - chalk this up as a learning experience and try and follow through next time!!

If I had only purhcased 1 drive instead of 10, I would have paid about $110 for a great CDRW drive...instead I am going to get a free CDRW drive and make about $400 dollars(I have already sold 4 drives). Now which one of those is a better deal. Isn't that what this forum is all about getting the best deal possible!

Hugenstein, you made money off of this deal but you took the deal away from others! This forum is about everyone getting the best deal possible, and most of the decent folks do it without making a profit!

BTW, I was the first one to show up at my CompUSA Sunday morning and I only bought one, they had 50-60 stacked on floor.
