The Iomeaga rebate from says UPC#742709311208 is that the # on the box?
and I just called Iomega promotions, and a purchase on the 31st would be fine.

I have a question for those who are buying ( or plan to buy ) multiple drives.

Don't you think this will be a one per customer promotion? Therefore, they will probably only price match on one of them. Right?

I bought two of them today. I plan to keep one and e$ay one to bring the cost down to around $20! If they won't give me the $150 off both of them, I will just keep one and return one.

The UPC on the 01/01/2001 to 03/31/2001 rebate does match the UPC on the box.

Do any of y'all have the PDF file for the rebate expiring Dec 31? I don't see it on Iomegas web site.

kcobra,

What rebate are you talking about and can you send a link to that one? The only one I've seen is the one for purchases no later than 12/31/00, to which which several people have linked in previous posts.

Thanks

Here you go: http://www.iomega.com/promos/cdrw_pdf.pdf I think a lot of peoples' "caching servers" haven't updated with Iomega's new web page/link.

Also, I bet even if CompUSA has a bunch still in on the 31st, they will remove most of them from their shelves, until the special is over. Buy now, or risk being to late.

Also, watchout about paying with cash. The CompUSA return policy says that you will be mailed a refund check for any returned product over $250 that was paid with cash.

OK so lemme get this straight....because I really wanna pickup 1 or 2 or 3 or 4, or 10 of these drives

So I buy it for $299.99 right? Where do I price match it to $279.99?

Then I get the $150 instant rebate? Is that a check, or how do they do that?

Then I get $30 from iomega - OK I get the Iomega part.

I just need to know about the IR, when do I get that? Do I have t go in and I can ONLY get it on the 31st or Jan 1st? Or can I get it earlier?

And where do I price matc it to?

I just need to know those 2 things...then I'm gonna buy at least 1 or 2, maybe more.

Some1 please PM me or email me this to tambrus@yahoo.com. I really want at least 1 of these drives for myself, hearing how great of a drive this is

Thanks,

Tibor

I'm probably being paranoid, but here's a question for anybody having prior experience with CompUsa price matching:

If I buy the drive right now and ask for the $150 difference later, will they subtract the $150 before tax? That is, if they do it correctly, I should get a refund of something more than $150.

Thanks.

Yes, if you live in a state with sales tax they will refund $150 plus the tax. If they try and get around it, just return the item and repurchase it. For people worried about one per customer and price matching I imagine that you could always return later Sunday (different time) and pricematch again. If they try and play that game you can play it right back. Or just get a friend and use cash for one of them. Rebates are the only thing that really work with that one per customer stuff.

I'm going to throw an extra twist in this, and I DON'T KNOW if it will work!

Best Buy will refund a price match + 10%! So, if there is a Best Buy AND a CompUSA in your neighborhood, I THINK you can:

1) Go to Best Buy and purchase this.
2) Wait for the CompUSA circular on Sunday.
3) Take the CompUSA circular, receipt and unopened burner back (in case this doesn't work) to Best Buy, and get a refund of $150 PLUS 10% of the difference ($279 (BB) - $129 (CUSA) = $150 * 10% = $15) Total price: $129 - $15 - $30 (MIR) = $84.

Did I confuse anybody?

BTW, don't do this if there is only a Best Buy in your area. I have a former BB manager in the office that said this won't work if there isn't a local CompUSA as well.

The one-per-customer thing doesn't apply to the Iomega mail-in rebate. The rebate for purchases before 1/1/01 says "Offer is limited to maximum of 10 mail-in savings per name or address" and the one for purchases on or after 1/1/01 says "Offer limited to maximum of ten mail-in savings per name or address per model." So, the only potential snags for those buying 10 or fewer units <g> is if CompUSA restricts the deal to one per customer, or if they won't pricematch.
