Why would anyone come here and brag about getting 'many' drives and fleabaying them? How low on the self-esteem scale must you be to come here looking for praise after screwing that many people?

I'd have that kind of attitude also if I was too lazy to get up off my duff and strictly tried to order a drive online...

Brudha, get a life. It's an electronic world, assmunch. I ordered online because it was listed online. If it was a B&M deal I'd go out and get it there (if I felt like it!). It isn't my fault you don't have a credit card cause you're either too young or don't know how to pay your bills. Do us all a favor and let your mom back on her PC. Don't you have homework, you immature twit?

CyBrShRk, You are so late to the party that if you think this was an online deal then your post speaks volumes of your intellect and understanding. Actually it talks of your true laziness in not reading or being able to comprehend this thread. A rebuttal to your juvenile drivel would be a true disservice to your already 'egg-on-the-face' reply. Prepare better next time before you chime in with a less than adequate quip! No wonder you sit there with no Iomega ZIPCD in your case. Some kids expect to be spoon-fed their whole lives - get on the stick!

All hail Brudha, or else he'll sit here and cry all day about how great he is. We give, you're the greatest! Now will you get in your jammies and go to bed?

CitizenX,

I'd be willing to pay a little premium for it. I sent you an ICQ message.

Matt

I was looking at some of the closed auctions and noticed that it looks like one or more people are putting fake bids on Egay on some of these auctions to screw up people's auctions.

I was just checking the status of my order on Compusa.com and I noticed its backdated, not a problem. I was also checking my Online banking statement and noted that they already charged my Debit Card. I thought that is was good business/common practice not to charge a customer's Card till the product was shipped. I'm glad that not everyone does this! :Q

LOL! E-bay auctions for these drives appear to be getting lots of fake bids (look at the yanked bids under bid history).

E-bayers deserve each other.

The fake bids are funny...long live artlemongory! Too bad he didn't get to the dirtbag from University of Florida who soaked up 27 units.

Is anyone else having a problem getting 10x with a CDRW with this drive and the copy of Adaptec CD Creator supplied (or any other copy for that matter)? All I get is 2x and 4x to choose from. I've tried with the 1.04 and 1.07 (hack) firmware. I upgraded Adaptec CD Creator to 4.03 (available on their web site).

Also, as an aside, all this fake bidding - doesn't it end up hurting your feedback rating?

Slightly OT post, but thought I'd mention it just in case anyone else is using the Intel D815EEA motherboard under Win2K...

If your new ZipCD (pick a firmware, any firmware v1.03 through v1.07) is working great with the Easy CD Creator that shipped with the drive but crapping out with errors under Nero or CloneCD, then you might want to make sure you're not running the Intel 82801BA ICH2 IDE-Storage Driver that you can download from their site. After a day of hair-pulling (and there's not much left up there anyway!) I finally tracked down the problem to that.

And now back to your regularly-scheduled epic thread.

Yep, the manual even says in the first few pages that you need the High Speed RW discs to write at 10X RW.

You have to admit, its poetic justice...all the people who didn't get one because they were sold out now spamming all the egay auctioners. I never thought of that but its PHAT. I was just having a giggle-fit scrolling through the auctions. Serves them right - chumps. Hope they don't sell any.

I would just like to say that I did order online at 12:03am. I found out about the deal yet i live over a hundred miles away from compusa or best buy. so the internet is my only way to purchase anything. before others accuse people for sitting on their butts so to speak find out the whole story. people buying 20 where iam trying to get one is crazy. if you really wanted to make a buck just buy 2 one for yourself and one to sell at a fair price and let other board members benifit from a great sale. Thats my 2cents

StumbleBum1,

Thanks - I learn something new everyday I suppose. CDRs seem to burn at 12x regardless of their rate (4x or 8x). I guess CDRW's actually tell the burner their max speed.

Now - anyone know where you can get 10x CDRWs cheap?

Fry's had 10x CD-RW's for about $1 each the last time I saw it (last Sunday). $9.99 for a 10 pack. I could be wrong...

wow 600 posts...quick question guys. i just installed it to replace my 8432 plextor. while burning it makes a small beeping noise towards the end. also as a reader, it's pretty loud. not as loud as my toshiba cd drive, but my 8x plextor was very quiet on most cds while this one seems loud on most cds. is this normal? and will the plextor upgrade help or probably not? thanks
