Agreed. Some people around here have a problem differentiating the almighty one with Newegg though. Never understood the lovefest. Years ago they were great, but times have changed a bit. Now they're just good, along with a couple other E-tailers.

I bought from both and didn't have trouble.

Zipzoomfly's website is a lot worse. You cannot find anything in there. Newegg's has much better search features. They also have better account display, for example you can see the serial numbers of everything you bought in the past in your old bills display.

Newegg pisses me off with shipping cost. $6 shipping cost for a $5 item? Okay. But $24 for ordering the same $5 item five times in one package?

Unfortunately zipzoomfly usually doesn't have the $5 items I want in the first place

I like FedEx (newegg) better than UPS (zipzoomfly).

That about rounds it up. Newegg gets more of my business, mostly because I can't find stuff on zzf.

Not enough poll options. Where is the "Both are outstanding" choice? I have ordered frequently from googlegear/ZZF and nearly 6 figures from da egg and never a problem with any step of the ordering or delivery process. I thought ZZF pooched my account info during the switch over but it turned out it was my bad.

Have all been nearly flawless for me as well. I have ordered from others to get hot deals but not enough to warrant mention

Personal experiance:

If you live in CA Monarch is the best.

Newegg is no good in TN, NJ, CA.

Everywhere else its newegg, ZZF, Mwave, and SVC. All excellent first rate shipping and CS.

I'd say newegg is the best, but other sites like monarchcomputers and zipzoomfly are fine, too. If prices are equal, go for newegg, but if something you want is much cheaper at zzf or something, then go for it, I'm sure you'll be fine. I'm personally gonna be buying the Asus A8N SLI deluxe mobo for $225, since I have a feeling newegg won't be getting it for a while.

I ordered parts from both newegg and zipzoom on the same day.

Newegg had free shipping for everything I ordered (over $1000 worth of crap) and zipzoom had a pretty reasonable, but still existent shipping cost.

What got my goat though was how quickly they shipped compared to each other. I orderd these on a Saturday. First of all, newegg processed the order on a Sunday and shipped on Monday. Zipzoom did ship on Monday as well, but they also processed on Monday. Makes me wonder what would have happened if I had ordered the stuff on Monday.

The piece from Zipzoom took 7 business days to get to my house whereas the Newegg stuff came on Wednesday, 2 days after being shipped. That's amazing.

IMO, that is reason enough to get Newegg

I use newegg almost exclusively, but now newegg doesn't take rma's on motherboards. I won't deal w/ the manf. if I just received a dead on arrival mobo...

I guess I'll start using ZZF more from now on... BTW the only thing I ever rma'd was a broken 120mm case fan from newegg. It cost me just as much to send it back as the cost of the fan, but it was the principal of the matter.

Directron, SVC are also good vendors..

Jose

I use both of them I usualy look at both to see which one has the better price on what I want. They both get things shipped to me quick, and both have some great deals. When I am getting multiple things, I usualy end up getting some things from each.

Both are excellent sites, ZZF used to be PC Nut.
Check both, and whichever is best deal, you will be safe to buy from either.

I have ALWAYS preferred ZZF, ever since they were GoogleGear. I am on my 3rd computer I built from ZZF orders. In fact, the only time I order something from NewEgg is when ZZF doesn't carry it.

Why? Because NewEgg is slow and doesn't offer the shipping deals that ZZF does.

Case in point, I ordered some barebones parts from NewEgg this past Wednesday at 11:49am to complete a build by next week... they did not even package my parts until Friday, and they did not ship my parts until this Saturday at 11:XX PM last night, despite the fact it is clearly written on your order "Will be shipped within 1-2 business days." Furthermore, I sent them an email Friday morning about the ordeal and they haven't gotten back to me on it since.

PS.. the 15% restocking fee applies to both ZZF and NewEgg. I know because I RMA'd a 256Mb stick of PC100 and a 40Gb Hard Drive to them 2 weeks ago, and they took the money out EVEN THOUGH I explained that both parts were defective.

Heh??? Not calling you a liar as it very well could be the case, but 99% of the time it is almost exactly the opposite.

ZZF used to be Googlegear, maybe you could fill us in on where PCNut fits in to the equation.

Most stuff at NewEgg either has a shipping charge or, if free, is supersaver five day shipping or you have to pay more.

I have been with ZipZoomFly since they were GoogleGear.com

Does it matter when you usually get what you ordered from Newegg in 2 days anyway? The only time I didn't get something in 2 days was because of Thanksgiving.

Anyway, I usually compare every place to Newegg because I think they have the best search features and customer reviews. But I'd probably order from somewhere else if it was cheaper and they were reputable.

As I've posted before, used to be strictly Newegg for me until they started charging me sales tax. Since that time I have been comparing their price to ZZF and go with which ever one works out cheaper. After our wonderful TN sales tax of 9.25% more often than not it's ZZF that works out cheaper. Never had a problem with ZZF, and sometimes I get their items a day before I would have from Newegg. I've had to do a few RMAs from Newegg over the years due to a couple of defective products and one was thanks to FedEx doing God knows what to it, but the RMA process was awesome (although I've been reading posts here that indicate maybe they've recently starting having some customer service issues?) and I never had to pay a restock fee AND they always reimbursed me for my shipping back. I'd be really surprised to get that kind of service elsewhere, but I've yet to have an RMA with ZZF so I can't comment on that. I know the one thing that I didn't like about Newegg was if an item didn't have free shipping you always got the shaft. Sorry, but if I order a couple of cables I shouldn't get charged the full shipping price for each item. One cable, $5 to ship, OK, no prob....but 3 cables, $15....crazy.

I bought stuff from them couple times. I have good luck with them. But I seem to favor more toward Newegg. They seem to have more to choose from. Newegg also has restocking fee but I think it's only 10% though. I'd buy from both whichever one has a better price.

The only reason why I keep shopping at Newegg is because I went there first and never been disappointed since I started. Even if there was a problem, It would not tarnish the 2 years experience I had ordered from them.

I also heard many good reviews from ZipZoomFly. Most people think ZipZoomFly is Newegg's equal and from what I've seen I can't disagree.

i use newegg for almost everything, no issues

Newegg ship within 48 hours, that's what I received e-mail from Newegg. I bought from Zipzoomfly & I need to call ZZF to check my shipping statues.

Both of them are good.
Just pick whichever is cheaper.

ZZF's two day shipping is kind of nice too.
