I like the Zalman. Very easy to apply a very thin coating on the heat spreader. There should not be any difference in performance if you have two flat/smooth mating surfaces.

that being said, OP, if you have a lapped CPU IHS and (presumably) lapped HSF, I would go with the Ceramique.

They're both lapped, although I haven't checked them w/my machinist's square (or a razor blade).
