zone alarm

anyone use this firewall?

when i have my connection locked , and it's blocking pings to my computer and internet broadcast messages.....what and who are these from?
is there any way that i can find out who the originator of the ping / broadcast message is?

i got 22 of them in a 24 hour period.

you can get NeoTrace Express its a free trace program
you can get it at any of the download place
Znet, download, stouds etc

yeah, neotrace is GREAT. nice visual representation of your ping as well.

granted, you can use some command prompt tools to manually trace in windows, but neotrace is cooler

There are several free places on the internet to trace as well. Just do a search. If you are on broadband connection, most likely most pings are from your ISP checking to make sure you are not running a server on your connection.

Zone Alarm is a great program......I have a couple of mp3 search programs and once your ip addr is known, you get bombarded w/queries...but hey, zone alarms handles them fine!

22 in a day is not unusual. Especially if you have cable, as opposed to dsl.
