That was a hot deal alright. I paid 249.99 for this card a few weeks ago from Newegg on ebay. Would have grabbed another off this deal if still in stock. Since the first worked out to be a good card.

It never gets loud even under extended gaming load. Mad Max and Batman DK lately. Fairly small card, OK bundle. Extra year of warranty iirc, if you register it with in 30 days. Have not overclocked it and the 1216Mhz boost speed is lower than many others. Notable: I do not have coil whine some are saying popped up weeks after buying. If that happens I will report it so people jumping on the deals this card keeps popping up at, can weigh it in their decision.

I had one of the shorty Zotacs on release. It was good enough on air but under water it went to 1500mhz easily. It however is hamstrung by the bios.

It limits all the fun, like when you want to go even higher. Other cards start with higher and higher limits. The zotac starts with a lower limit, which ultimately means it can't compete with the more highend boards but then again it IS a shorty ref based board. Can't expect it to compete with the likes of the G1 Gaming right? Though I have to admit, I've been out of the 970 oc scene so I don't know what progress has been made in the bios area.

I have seen no limits bios for the AMP Omega but not this base model. And as you observed reference PCB, and VRM, only allow so much without hard modding. I do not bother with any of that jazz anymore, even though it is fun to live vicariously through others doing it.

Jet seems to want to supplant Amazon. They recently got a huge influx of cash from the Chinese Alibaba. Enjoy the negative margin sales while Jet tries to steal customers from Amazon.
