Zune HD gets official!

a lot of it is just in the coloring/layout. i think it looks awesome.

Yeah, I do like the look of this Zune. Not that appearance is even a consideration when I'm buying an MP3 player.

Yea. Much of the time I'm using my MP3 player is when its inconvenient to look at - driving, running, at the gym, etc. I really like the ZuneHD but I'll never get one.

You could just make a playlist with the songs you like. But I wouldn't be surprised if the Zune HD has a remote on the headphones like (some of?) the iPods (not sure if the old Zune had that, or when they started adding it to the iPods). Click once to play/pause, twice to skip forward, three times to skip back. That's really all I need when I'm riding my bike.

Hopefully MS would make an adapter so you could use any headphones you want.

How is it fanboyism? I have not listened to the radio in over 10 years. The PMP market has completely replaced my need for the radio. I don't see how FM radio is going to change that or what the benefit of it is when I have an iPod full of CD quality music already.

It was the preferred choice of my GF, and we both prefer it greatly to our Ipod experiences.

Hmmm....wifi connection not available to 100% of people on the go. HD/regular radio not available to, what, 10% at most of people on the go? Completely made up percentages, but you get my point.

HD radio is a very nice extra. With iPods, you pay a premium to NOT have radio built in, then another premium to get it added. Sure, some/most might not want it, but it's a nice extra that you cannot deny, regardless if you'll use it or not.

So the iPod is original, attractive and has a better name... Yup, that's why I want to buy a product. HD Radio is a pretty cool feature. Are there any pocket-sized HD radios other than this? I know that some were shown a year or two a CES but I don't see any from brief google searches.

That said, it's not enough to convince me to buy a new zune I think, because the local radio stations here are all terrible. Let's wait and see what sort of things crop up... if there are some good games, it might be worth it.

Just because someone brings up a single point for a competing product doesn't mean he's a fanboy dude. I've been thinking the same thing. There are a million apps on the iPhone/iTouch that give you all sorts of music.

And if it's the HD that's the selling point, then OK, I get that. Honestly doesn't really matter to me if it's HD or not.

Yeah, but the Zune doesn't let you do much of anything useful with the WiFi. No e-mail, no web browsing... just music sharing and downloads. And good luck finding some other Zune users to share music with
