I guess that they are running out of other social games to rip off at this point. Maybe they should buy up some indie game developers and steal their ideas instead.
You guys realize how many developers make Chess games..etc. I don't see how putting a spin on it and changing the name is stealing. We see it everyday in the mainstream games

:awe:when I was shopping for a new board game, my decision came down to two: Words with Friends and Scrabble. I came to the conclusion that both games are THE EXACT SAME CONCEPT, but the one deciding factor was my mistaken assumption that Words with Friends would actually come with friends.

i never understood it, as computing power has increased exponentially, games themselves have followed the reverse trend. yet again, Star Trek TNG mimics real life, all of these people are addicted to the endorphins released from "winning" a stupidly simple little game.

Part of the reason why so many developers make chess games is that it's a game that has been around for centuries and has no IP protection. That makes it a particularly poor example to use in defending Zynga's disregard of other peoples' IP.
the guy is a self-admitted thief who stole game ideas and mechanics after they were completely implemented by other people, and just reskinned them. he has said deragatory things about his user base multiple times. he will do anything to make a buck.
