ZZF Ordering Q

Ok, with their Free 2nd Day Air thing, how long does it take to actually process the order? I've never used them before but I need some memory by Friday. With the Egg it seems that the ordering processing takes very little time. Would like to know if ZZF is along those same lines if anyone knows.

On someone's elses account is always nice

FedEx 2-Day 2 bus. days (2-3 days for AK/HI) + processing time

The processing time has me worried is all. I want to play with 2GBs on my lappy this weekend so want it to be in hand on Friday.

I just ordered something from ZZF (on the 12th), the FedEx guy brought it me this morning. But keep in mind that I ordered it on the weekend, so the processing took longer. Also FedEx kind of messed up the order, which is uncommon in my experience (it sat for day in their local distribution facility for no particular reason).

When did they have it packaged and shipped from the time you put in the payment info?

Shipped in quotes because it was the weekend. You might have better luck with it during weekdays, esp. if you get the order in before they get their packages into FedEx for the day.

My experience has been that they usually process & ship it the next business day after you order. I usually place my orders at night (or very early in the "morning") and ZZF ships the next day (same day if I order in the morning) and my package arrives two days after that. So, if you ordered tonight, I would think you could get it by Friday. YMMV.

edit: Also, you often won't get the shipping notice until very late at night even though the package shipped in the morning of that day. Id on't know why this is....

Might be delay on the part of FedEx. I don't think I'll be ordering things on the weekend anymore. I had more problems with my recent order than I can ever recall. Other the package sitting in the FedEx facility thing I mentioned, the updates seemed to be very slow and out of order on their tracking website. At first, it only had the most recent location info, with a huge gap where info for several days was missing. That missing info slowly filtered in as the hours went by. Strangely enough, the "package received" message that I saw the FedEx delivery guy punch up updated the website tracker immediately. So yeah, don't expect the tracking info to be 100% accurate.

Well, just ordered...so I'll cross my fingers it will be here by Friday...had it shipped to my work so I know someone will be around to acccept the package.

Yes (and with most other reputable retailers as well) because they have to verify your credit card information.

Generally it's like this:

Time after order is 1 business day.
Time after shipping is 2 business days.

So, if you order on a Monday, before around 3-4pm, chances are you will have it on that Thursday, that Friday otherwise.

If you live close by in California I imagine it would be sooner.

Ordered an LCD in the morning. It went from Union City to Oakland by the evening. Hell I can drive that in like 15 min.... Not too special. It IDLED in Oakland for the whole next day. Bear in mind that I live in the South Bay. I drive to Berkeley all the time and it takes me 45 min, but noooooooo they want to leave it in Oakland for the next day. That evening it moves down to Sunnyvale and the day after I get it. 2 day shipping indeed. Too bad UPS ground would've done it faster because they can do in-state in 1 day.

The Egg is not necessarily faster.

Ordered parts on FRIDAY @ The Egg (morning). ZZF was on MONDAY morning. I got both on WEDNESDAY. It's not like the stuff from Egg was enormously challenging coming from "City of Industry, CA (near LA)" UPS still would've done that in 2 days

i ordered stuff from them on a saturday night, it shipped on monday, and i got it 2 days later on wednesday.
