@Inder...you cannot write this exam at home. On the VMware website there is a practice test. It is not nearly as comprehensive as the actual test. Also as the title of the file says...this is for VCP (now called VCP-DCV) 510

@Inder: You can take the exam and then attend the course. the certification task will involve two tasks, one to complete the required training and the other to pass the exam. only after you finish both you will get your certificate :)

Inder , first of all this it true under one condition , which is your company should be a vmware premier partner and now they have a program vaild till 06/30/2014 called acceleration program that you can attend exam without 5-day training .
again in order to be entitle for this your company needs to be partner as well you have to contact VMware certification support to obtain an " authorization code" in order to take the exam via vue

Inder, In order to book exam on pearsonvue they require you to have vmware authorisation. The only way to get authorised is to pass the training course.
I have heard as well that you can somehow book the exam without the course, but I don't know how is that possible

SOMEBODY PLEASE ANSWER: I first thought I could write the exam to get the certification but then found out you need to attend 5 days expensive training course to schedule exam. BUT now someone has told me that's only if you want to get the certification. You've the option to write the exam without training and you can list on resume that you've passed the exam and then probably mention that I didn't have enough in pocked to attend the expensive training? Is that true?

Peace: This particular vce has 5 different exams. I found that it helped me to study one exam a day. I would retake it several time in that day. Spread the exams out so not to burn out. I kept working on the questions I missed. At the end of the each practice exam there is a link to retake the questions that you missed. It took me several weeks of doing the practice exams before I felt confident to take the real exam. I also read the official VCP5 guide that I got from amazon and the VMware Fast track course ebook. Good Luck its a tough test.

Passed in the states. Some new questions. Look at Exam B Q1 and use that picture. The question was 'How would you select the preferred path in that picture'. I don't recall the options though so you may want to look that up. Another new Q was on the Host Config -> Network Adapters, what information is displayed for each adapter, pick 3: Speed, Driver, VLAN, vSwitch & Protocol. I have no idea what the answer is to this question is because VLAN, Driver and Protocol are NOT displayed there in my 5.1 vCSA installation. I picked Driver as my third choice since that made the most sense.
